Targus and Synaptic showcase their Hybrid Dock with Bio-authentication

A leader in universal docking solutions and tech accessories, Targus, has partnered with Synaptics Incorporated to launch the world’s first dock built with a biometric device- the USB-C Hybrid/Universal 4K Quad Dock with 100W PD and Fingerprint ID (DOCK720). This will be one of many products that will be showcased by Targus during CES 2022.

The DOCK 720 supports up to a single 8k resolution or four 4K display monitors and also has a wide variety of ports and robust security due to the inclusion of fingerprint authentication. The SentryPoint biometrics technology developed by Synaptics comprises various security-related features such as encryption, Match-in-Sensor (MIS), anti-spoof technology, architecture, and more to provide industry-leading security.

Some of the features of the DOCK720 includes:

  • A hybrid design that is compatible with DisplayLink or DP Alt Mode
  • Single 8K through VMM6210

Along with DOCK720, Targus will also be showcasing DOCK710, which has a similar feature set as the DOCK720 like universal compatibility except for the biometrics capabilities that are required by large corporations.

Both the DOCK720 and DOCK710 are on sale right now on targus.com along with the participating retailers. DOCK720 retailers for $442.99 SRP meanwhile the DOCK710 retails for $372.99. Both of them will be backed by Targus’ three-year warranty.
