The Tupperware Brands Charitable Foundation, which is a part of the Tupperware Brands Company, announced that it will be providing The National Park Foundation an amount of $1 million towards maintaining and improving parks in the US. Through this donation, they are making efforts to spread awareness on the conservation of parks and the use of reusable and eco-friendly products. The national parks of the USA attract more than 300 million visitors every single year. And around 70 million pounds of waste is produced annually in these tourist-friendly parks. So, now, more than ever is the need to take up steps towards responsible waste management and encouragement of reusable and recyclable products. The National Park services aim at waste reduction and cost-efficient waste management in accordance with its Green Parks plan.
Tupperware Brands is a premier partner of the National Park Foundation. As per its commitment, Tupperware supports its partner in each and every one of its efforts to maintain parks and improve the environment by laying stress on the importance of reusable products. The Tupperware brands, the National Park Foundation and the National Park Service together are putting in efforts to educate people and find solutions on the environmental issues and importance of parks. They will together be taking care of around 400 parks across the nation.
“We know waste is a compounding issue at parks across the country and continues to increase as more visitors travel locally and explore the inspiration that these iconic places have to offer. Our partnership will focus on reducing waste by educating the public on the benefits of using reusable solutions. Since 1946, Tupperware has been synonymous with minimizing waste before it begins with quality, environmentally friendly reusable products. In anticipation of our 75th anniversary in 2021, we are reflective of our legacy- a brand committed to nurturing a better future for people, communities and the environment. We are extremely proud to bring our purpose to life with the National Park Foundation, and look forward to the efforts our brand and our organization can bring to the belief that we all- park goers, inspiration seekers, nature lovers, and stewards of the outdoors- should choose to do good every day,” says the Chief Executive Officer of Tupperware Brands.
Tupperware will be focusing on its commitment by primarily trying to reduce as much waste as possible. They will be spreading awareness of effective waste management by developing innovative ideas of using products and also by conducting awareness activities on using ecologically friendly products and its benefits to the parks.
The CEO of the National Park Foundation says, “Together we are investing in the future of national parks, helping to ensure that these stunning and meaningful places thrive for generations to come. We’re grateful to the Tupperware Brands Charitable Foundations for their tremendous support for waste reduction efforts that make our parks more resilient and sustainable for the benefit of all of us.”
In addition to their initial commitment of $1 million, they will donate 50% of profits on sales of all small, medium, and large eco-friendly water bottles to the National Park Foundation on December 1st, 2020 for the #GivingTuesday.
